Wireless Environmental Monitoring

Category Environmental Sensors

Active RFID-enabled infrastructure for real-time environmental monitoring

Ideal for monitoring in real time the environmental conditions in the data center environment, RF Code’s completely wire-free approach to environmental monitoring is an affordable, flexible alternative to traditional wired environmental monitoring solutions. The small-profile sensors eliminate the hard-wired headache by offering a more efficient, flexible approach to tracking and alerting environmental conditions in real time. Use sensors on the front of server cabinets to ensure supply temperatures are within the recommended range. They can also be used to measure CRAC/CRAH supply and return air to recognize short cycling. Air-pressure sensors can be located in the supply plenum to identify low-pressure areas which may be causing hot spots.

Tags
All RF Code asset and sensor tags feature encoded radio transmissions, low power consumption for long battery life and reduced maintenance costs, and superior anti-collision technology for high-tag densities. Tags can include motion and tamper detection sensors, customizable beacon rates, and a broad variety of mounting and enclosure options.

Readers
RF Code’s product line of active readers are used in a variety of environments and situations. When deployed in concert with RF Code Active RFID tags, our readers give customers an unparalleled solution, from the rack-level, through the room-level, to the extended enterprise. Our readers are easily installed and work well in both wired and wireless network environments.

Software
The data from the wireless sensor network can integrate with Green Works data center monitoring software. Temperature and air-pressure data can be mapped to the data center floor layout for quick glance monitoring and real-time thermal imaging. Thresholds can be set to provide visual and electronic alerts for both warning and critical conditions.

  • Features

Features

  • Sensor Manager software works in concert with RF Code’s wire-free environmental sensor tags to provide real-time monitoring and alerting about the environmental conditions surrounding assets in dense spaces such as data centers. Using this wire-free solution, customers have the maximum deployment flexibility needed to monitor critical asset conditions at an extremely attractive price point
  • Temperature/Humidity Sensor monitors and reports the relative humidity and ambient temperature in its immediate environment
  • Door sensor is a battery-powered RF transmitter that attaches to standard IT rack cabinet doors
  • Differential Air Pressure Sensor monitors and reports the differential air pressure reading between two points (e.g., above vs. below a raised floor or room vs. plenum). While the pressure ranges found in the data center can exceed 0-0.5" H20/0-125 Pa, the pressure differentials found in the plenum are often only 0.01" H20/2.5 Pa, requiring a sensor to be both accurate and precise in order to assure proper monitoring
  • Dry Contact Sensor is a battery-powered RF transmitter that attaches to assets that need to be tracked, located and monitored, features two twisted wires that enable connection to a dry contact device. Once connected, the R130 will monitor and report the open and closed states of the device
  • Temperature Sensor monitors sensitive assets in IT racks, within 2°F of accuracy, in environments ranging from 50°F to 130°F
  • Liquid Detection Sensor totally eliminates the need to wire or cable a data center for liquid leak detection capabilities
  • Fixed Reader is a dual channel radio receiver tuned to 433.92 MHz. The Readers are used in a variety of environments and situations that call for environmental monitoring. When deployed in concert with the RF Code sensor tags, our readers give customers an unparalleled environmental monitoring solution that provides real-time environmental data, from the rack-level, through the room-level, to the extended enterprise. Our readers are easily installed and work well in both wired and wireless network environments
