Estero, FL – Data Center Resources, LLC, a leading provider of innovative power, cooling and monitoring solution for the critical data center market, announced today that it has partnered with a UK based company to introduce a fully integrated modular data center solution. The UK based company will provide the physical building shell which ships flat-packed to be assembled on any prepared space in less than a week. Data Center Resources will provide all critical infrastructure including server cabinets, power distribution, cooling modules, chiller, back-up power, fire suppression and monitoring.

The building shell includes heavy-duty grids of steel beams for the base, floor and ceiling. Vertical steel supports connect the grids together. Supports from base to floor create an under floor plenum space to run piping for the cooling system. Vertical supports from floor to ceiling double as the frames for the server cabinets. Insulation, featuring superior thermal and fire ratings, is used between the steel exterior and interior walls. Berendes continues, “The entire structure consists of precision components combined to create a steel skeletal system. It results in is a very durable and sturdy building that can be assembled by unskilled workers using common tools.”
Servers and other IT hardware are housed within an enclosed containment pod in the center of the building. Within the pod there is space between each cabinet for an 8” wide 25 kW cooling module. Rack mount power distribution and modular UPS system is also housed within the pod. This design creates a dedicated, secure environment for scalable power and cooling that is sized to load. Infrastructure can be configured to accommodate loads ranging from 1 to 30kW per cabinet with either N+1 or 2N redundancy.
Initially designed as a solution for quick deployment data centers for military applications, the unique design is gathering interest from many industries. “The initial response to this new product has been very strong; we have had interest from Universities, local government, co-location and corporations. It is attractive to any organization needing a small to medium-size data center but does not currently have suitable space”, declares Berendes.
