There is Zero Sub for Aisle Containment in the Data Center

Data Center with double sliding doors, servers, raised floor and sub containment panels.

When it comes to cooling and operating data center infrastructure, there is zero reason to settle for anything less than the best. Cool Shield experts engineer containment solutions to maximize data center efficiency and keep temperatures in the sub critical range.

Aisle containment involves the installation and implementation of solid or strip barriers, aluminum frame, and enclosures to separate cold air from hot exhaust air. Both hot and cold aisle applications are applied to the individual site based on existing or proposed conditions. In order to eliminate hot and cold air from mixing, an effectively engineered system is necessary. The use of containment is applied to both traditional raised floor and non-raised floor environments. Additionally, the use of air containment panels under the sub floor is possible.

Sub Critical Temperature Control

It is vital to implement aisle containment in order to effectively regulate IT equipment temperature and keep temperatures in the sub critical range. In addition, reduced operating costs, optimized energy efficiency, and maximized equipment reliability saves millions in energy bills and equipment costs per year. The reduced costs and carbon footprint are significant. Of course achieving zero carbon footprint is not possible at this time, but achieving significant levels of improvement is possible depending on the span of the data center.

Flexible Solutions

It is possible to build aisle containment systems around existing retrofit server racks or new rack specs. In addition, our edge data center cages are compatible with all versions of our containment systems. A benefit of aisle containment is the flexibility when accounting for growth in the data center. Server aisles can be reconfigured, substituted, and re-assembled based on current and future needs with relative ease. Alternatively, containment systems have the ability to be designed with expansion in mind by using panels in the place of empty server racks. This practice helps to minimize sub-optimal air leakage, while the data center is in transition.

Zero Worry Installation and Service

Once the data center site and conditions are assessed and a containment a design has been engineered, an installation plan is expertly devised and implemented. Similarly, the installation of the system will have a great impact on the systems performance. Trained and bonded installers use a variety of gap seals, gaskets, and components to ensure that zero hot or cold air mixes. A sub standard installation has zero favorable effect on efficiency. Our installers have installed thousands of containment systems in enterprise, hyper scale and colocation facilities across the world.
